I am looking for any thoughts on the following tractors: JD 4200HST, Kubota B2710HSD, and the NH Boomer TC25DHSD. Any information on perfomances, loaders, mid mount decks, problems, experiances working with the tractor, getting parts, cost, or anything that could help in our purchase. Putting on attachments or taking off of attachments.

I'm going throught the same dilemma. Here's what I've gound so far. The best pricing on the hydro JD4200 is $14,600. The price I just got today on a Boomer TC-25D was $13,400. I can't give may specifics, but the Boomer seems to be a better designed machine. For instance, the drive shaft to the front wheels on the Boomer is completely enclosed. On the JD the shaft is exposed. Is that a problem? Maybe, long term. But, more importantly, it makes me wonder where else JD cut corners on the 4000 series tractors. I also like the "deluxe" 3-point hitch, location of the controls, break-away lights, forward/reverse accelerator pedal (same as Kobota), fully adjustable tilt steering wheel, and finally, rear toolbox on the Boomer. I get the impression the Boomer is made of heavier materials. If you look closely, it seems to be built like a tank. The JD4200 is not.As you can tell, I'm leaning toward the Boomer. I'm just trying to get past that "safe" feeling you get when buying the more popular brand.Hope it helps... ....

I own a JD4200 with a loader and the 60" commercial mid mount mower. Both attachments are very easy to take on and off. Have you compared the overall weight and output of the hydraulics for the Boomer and the JD? I am very satisfied with the machine and I belive JD has a winner in this new series. Futhermore, dealer support is very important, don't save a few bucks just to get the best price. Check out the dealer and his reputation on service. Fred ....

I bought a TC-25D for many of the same reasons as Greg. I also noticed the TC25 was put together with a lot more attention to detail than the 4200. For instance, some of the hydraulics (power steering) are attached on the bottom (in harms way) rather than the top, and they crossover under the frame. ....

I have been looking at the same machines, althought i have also looked at the JD 4100 and Kubota's B machines. The real mystery is the NH Boomers. I want a front loader at the very least and cannot find any prices on the net. By the way check out http://www.kubota-tractors.com/b2710.htm for a B2710HSD w/ LA401 for $16,000. That seems to be a good deal, although I have not contacted them. ....

Tom, I looked at the site you listed, and that $16,000 for the B2710 w/LA401 loader doesn't sound bad (it said with R4 tires and 60" bucket). Nine months ago, I bought a 1999 B2710 w/LA401 loader for $15,500 in central Texas, but it has the standard R1 tires and 54" bucket. I've got 130+ hours on it, and love it. ....

Tom, I just purchased a tc29d for many of the reasons listed here. I was swayed away from the Kubota by these features, but have had a few problems that just a few days ago had me thinking I made a serious mistake. I received a call from NH customer service and they seem to be willing to deal with my concerns. I will let you know what happens. I find the machine very operator friendly, more (ergonomically) so than the 4100 I had previously owned. Another feature I like on the NH is the abundance of grease fittings, often missing on other brands. Also, the pto has a mechanical engagement rather than the electric switch some brands use, I think it is more durable. The Deere has some nice features as well. The deck is on and off easier and so are the belt covers (nice for cleaning). I like the front end protection incorporated into the 410 loader frame. Also, the steering brakes are where you can use them on the Deere (the left side). The dealers in my area were too pricey for the 4200. The Kubota speaks for itself. The 7100 I owned was a jewel. The dealer and the customer service, top notch. I would buy another one, and almost did last month. If you are in NY, there is an excellent dealer that is on this site from time to time. His name is Art White. Also, the JD was noiser than the NH, but "appears" to burn a bit cleaner. This site is just great for this type of information. Good luck! ....
